TVOD Release Their Latest Single & Music Video, “Car Wreck”
Montreal post-punk krautrock band TVOD has released their new single “Car Wreck” along with its accompanying music video.
Brooklyn-based rockers TVOD stand out with emotional, sometimes juvenile lyrics paired with driving, catchy songs that never fail to get a crowd moving/moshing. Influenced by post-punk, egg punk and krautrock, TVOD effortlessly weaves musical genres in a way that comes off seamlessly. “More than anything, their sound is engineered to make you move” (Creem Magazine).
The brainchild of singer-songwriter Tyler Wright, the project draws from personal and external inspirations like the nightlife/music scene, heartaches, World War II, the untimely death of a beloved pet fish, and so on. TVOD’s vivid storytelling paints a gritty tongue-in-cheek picture of being a D.I.Y. artist grinding it out in NYC, complete with fabled tales about the degenerate lifestyle and all the good and the bad that comes with it.
TVOD gear up for their transatlantic trip to Les Trans Musicales (Rennes, FR) with the release of “Car Wreck.” This new track from the latest Mothland signees is the whole works: a krautrock-esque bassline and backbeat, fuzzed-out guitar licks, psychedelic synthesizer effects, as well as an absolute earworm of a melody in support of poignant lyrics about being reckless and embracing it. RIYL: Viagra Boys, Fountains D.C., Parquet Courts.
TVOD on the track:
“Crash course derby with chronic guitar solos. You’ve always been crazy. This is just the first chance you’ve ever had to really express yourself. Félix Bélisle and Samuel Gemme co-produced the song. We were looking for somewhere to record and nothing was really speaking to us until we heard La Sécurité’s debut, which they produced at Gamma Recording Studio in Montréal. We recorded over a couple trips from Brooklyn to Montréal and slept on the floor at Mothland’s office and at the apartment of Turbo Haüs.”
Tour Dates:
2024.11.22 – Montréal, QC – M for Montreal (La Sala Rosa)
2024.12.06 – Rennes, FR – Les Trans Musicales (Parc Expo – Hall 8)
2025.03.10-15 – Austin, TX – SXSW (Official Artist)
