The Elsewheres are back with a bang! Their latest single, “Melt”, gives fans a taste of what’s to come in their upcoming EP. This track is a bold return to their gritty, alt-rock roots, blending catchy rhythms, smooth acoustic guitars, and a punch of brass for extra flair.

At the heart of “Melt” is a raw, emotional story. The song captures the frustration of chasing after “the one,” only to find out they’re not who you thought they were. With Oliver Northam’s rugged vocals paired with Grace Phillips’ well-placed harmonies, the song builds an undeniable energy. The song even features a horn section that adds another dimension to the sound of the group.

For Northam, this song feels like a personal breakthrough. “I’ve always been drawn to folk songwriting, but my dad was the frontman of a new wave rock band in the ’80s,” he shares.

“I feel like it was waiting for me.”

“When I was a kid I begged my parents for a bright orange Gretch Electromatic. I loved that thing but it never gave me any songs, until this year when I dusted it off, slapped on some new strings, and soon after ‘Melt’ arrived. I feel like it was waiting for me.”

The result is a track that feels both familiar and fresh, with a fiery attitude that shows off the band’s full range.
The new EP Melt, out December 17th, promises even more surprises. The Elsewheres are exploring all sides of their sound and evolving while they do it. “Melt” is the first taste of The Elsewheres’ new era and it’s clear the band is ready to turn up the heat and bring their electrifying sound to a whole new level.

Listen to “Melt”, out now—and be on the lookout for their new EP, coming Dec 17.
