It’s been an eventful year in the lead-up to Palm Ghosts’ brand-new EP Decoder. The band builds more anticipation today with the premiere of the music video for “Aftermath.”

The song plays somewhat like a hymn. It feels devotional in nature as lead singer and bassist Joseph Lekkas asks rhetorically, “Why do you pave a road to a place you do not wish to go?” It’ll get in your head for sure, but in the most gratifying of ways.

Commenting on the song, Lekkas states:

“‘Aftermath’ is about the manifestation of fear and the slow-building dread that leads us away from our own self-interests.”

“Aftermath” is the fifth and final single to come from Decoder. It comes just ahead of the release of the EP this Friday, December 6th, via Poptek Records and Sweet Cheetah Records. Beginning this past March, the band began to build anticipation for the EP release when they started releasing a series of songs and videos. They started releasing one song at a time, every two weeks and combined together, they will comprise four different EPs and a double album full-length. It’s an enormous amount of music the band has been working away on for some time.

The double album is titled Facades, and it will also be released on December 6th. It includes 20 new songs, and it stands as their most eclectic release yet. The songs will stretch across topics like religion, cults, love, loss, and survival. Some songs will feature shining melodies, while others will come on the darker side.

For artists who struggle to release a ten-track album every four years, Palm Ghosts is shattering expectations. This has been their most elite and productive year yet, and they’re set to carry that over into a new year of triumphs and successes.
