Nathan Sky Releases Heartfelt New Single “Grass”

Nathan Sky & The Hipps just released their new single, “Grass”—and it’s a heartfelt and emotional track from songwriter Nate Cain. The song features authentic, raw vocals alongside a guitar gently picking, creating a laid-back, introspective vibe.
Written over a decade ago, “Grass” is deeply personal for Cain. He explains that the song reflects his fears of not living up to expectations and the desire to shield those close to him from his own pain. “I’ve been afraid of not doing music the right way,” he shared, “and because of that, I haven’t really put any out. So here’s that track for the people who’ve waited.”
“‘Grass’ is about wanting to protect the people you love from your faults, your fears, and your sadness.”
This release is the first single from Nathan Sky’s upcoming debut album, Some Things I’d Like to Say. The album, which was inspired by Cain’s time in Alaska, touches on themes of growth, vulnerability, and hope. “Grass” stands out for its simple, stripped-down feel, yet it carries a heavy emotional weight.
Cain’s decision to release “Grass” under both Nathan Sky and The Hipps is a way to honor his past work while moving forward with his solo project. The song is a step toward more personal and consistent music releases, as Cain aims to connect with his audience on a deeper level. Cain aims to continue releasing more music that reflects his true self and resonates with his fans.
