Indie-pop artist/producer Jacque Ryal joins forces with Australian electronic producer Transient Park, aka Paul Dal Broi, on their new single, “There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out,” a cinematic version of The Smiths’ 1986 hit song.

Ryal says, “The Smith’s version is so wild. These insanely dark lyrics about death and love set to this upbeat and hopeful music. I was so moved by Transient Park’s approach to the song. He really flipped it inside out.”

The two artists connected during a syn agency workshop, where they were paired to work on briefs for television, film, and ad music spots. While the two were collaborating, sync agent, Charles Levan of Blue Buddha suggested Ryal and Dal Broi reimagine “There’s A Light And It Never Goes Out.”

After merging acoustic piano, synth textures, and beats, Transient Park sent the track to Ryal, who, inspired, precisely employed her wondrous voice to the lyrics.

“There Is A Light And It Never Goes Out” opens on a graceful, evocative piano, leading to the entry of Ryal’s deliciously haunting vocals, blending hints of melancholy and wistful yearning into passionate tones evoking the despair of loneliness and the desire for emotional connection.
