Dayseeker and Fans Connect at Emotional London Kentish Town Forum Headline Show [Photos]
Post-hardcore favourites Dayseeker give fans an emotional experience as their biggest UK headline tour rolls into the capital…
December is the time of year where venturing out to gigs is really only for the truly dedicated fans and this gloomy evening was no different with the expection that, even though most casual gig-goers had stayed home, the Kentish Town Forum was packed and buzzing with excitement for headliners Dayseeker.
First up was UK synth/pop-rock project Heart of Gold who proved to be a worthy opener for this three-band bill. Trimming down to a seven song set, Heart of Gold kicked off with “Stranger (To Your Love)” and, by the time things wrapped up with “See Through” had made sure early arrivals to the Forum had had a worthwhile journey.
While it might be cold and dreary outside, outfit Rain City Drive brought a healthy dose of Florida sunshine to the capital. Again wasting no time getting down to the business, the band kicked off their set with the brilliant “Frozen however the highlight of the set for the majority of this room must surely have been “Medicate Me” where the Florida band were joined by Ryan Rodriguez from the headliners.
A shrewd choice of supports for this, Dayseeker’s biggest ever UK tour, by the time the Orange County post-hardcore band arrived on stage, all attention was at the stage. Kicking off with “Dreamstate” and “Crooked Soul”, Dayseeker lit the venue up. A strong opening, the clever use of visuals and lighting mixed into the setlist made from a dramatic and emotional experience.
Having already appeared on stage once, Dayseeker frontman Ryan Rodriguez proved himself to be an absolute star with a superb vocal range. Not only does he demonstrate this through their own tracks like “Dark Sun” and “Gates of Ivory” but when the band power through a cover of Evanescence megahit “My Immortal”, you really see Rodriguez shine.
Following the cover, Dayseeker’s biggest London show comes to a close with “Sleeptalk” and “Neon Grave” and as a thousand or so fans file back into a wintery London night having experienced a performance they won’t forget in a long time.
