The fact that a band like The Libertines who have filled arenas and headlined festivals across the UK are playing not one but three very sold-out nights at the ornate Albert Hall in Manchester means that fans lucky enough to get a ticket for one, or all, of these shows is in for a special treat.

Billing these dates as the All Quiet On The Eastern Parade tour, The Libertines are known for the raucous rock n’ roll shows and these shows in Manchester are no different. Performing a twenty-five song set which saw the band dive into their back catalogue kicking off with 2004’s “The Delaney” following it with “What Became of the Likely Lads” from the same year. The rest of the set was peppered with tracks from the new album with the band treating fans to well-received renditions of “I Have a Friend,” “Run Run Run,” and “Baron’s Claw.”

In the past the Pete Doherty-led rockers were known for their chaotic, unpredictable shows but, these days Doherty and Carl Barat are a little calmer even adding a dramatic touch to the set with the well-considered use of a string section.

Even though this tour sits under the banner of the new album, three nights in Manchester Albert Hall was something that was going to be far from quiet and, on that score, Pete, Carl and the Libertines put on a loud, rowdy night of rock n’ roll.
