L.S. Dunes and Rise Against delivered an impressive night of rock n’ roll last week at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The halls of the legendary Cain’s Ballroom were filled to the brim on this early Thursday in November 2024. Everybody there was filled with excitement as two legendary bands took the stage that night. One band is fairly new on the scene but is stacked with members from other historic bands in the scene, and another one has been at it for around 25 years.
The first band, L.S. Dunes, has only been around since 2022 but is basically a supergroup with members from Circa Survive, My Chemical Romance, Coheed and Cambria, and Thursday. The second band is the incredible Rise Against, which has made some of the biggest records in today’s punk rock. With these bands, this night was set to be a night of epic proportions.
Hitting the stage first, L.S. Dunes definitely did not disappoint, as lead singer Anthony Green is like a keg of TNT ready to explode. He’s all over the map, flowing and aggressively dancing with the music. It’s easy to see that he gets lost in the music and is transported to another world when he performs. The rest of the band was incredibly tight as well. Riffing through their set and bringing the audience into their space, the band delivered on all fronts.
The headliner for the night, Rise Against, took the stage 30 minutes after L.S. Dunes wrapped up and started their set off with the crowd favourite “Satellite,” which drove the audience crazy. This set the mood for a thrilling rest of the night, with the energy of the crowd bursting at the seams. They played an impressive collection of songs, including “Swing Life Away,” and closed with “Savior.” The crowd ate all of this up as crowd surfing and mosh pits broke out.
This was a memorable night on all fronts. If you are fortunate enough that this tour comes through your town, don’t be a fool and miss out on the passion and the excitement.
