Today, homegrown Canadian comedian Julie Kim, an international headliner and one of the country’s top stand-up comedians, announces the “Doing Too Much Comedy Tour,” presented by MRG Live. The tour kicks off on February 13 in Kelowna, BC, making eleven stops from coast to coast. The “Doing Too Much Comedy Tour” is a vibrant showcase of Kim’s comedic brilliance, cultural roots, and unique voice. Thoughtfully timed to coincide with Asian Heritage Month and International Women’s Day, the solo tour celebrates a resonating talent—a woman of colour and mother—cementing her place on major stages across the country.

The presale for the tour kicks off Wednesday, November 27th, at 10:00 a.m. ET with the code “MRGLIVE.” General on-sale begins Friday, November 29th at 10:00 a.m. ET – tickets are available at AdmitONE.com.

Named Vancouver’s #1 Best Comedian in 2023, Kim’s talents have seen her take over major stages both at home and internationally, recently touring across North America alongside Ronny Chieng (The Daily Show, Crazy Rich Asians), headlining four sold-out solo shows at Toronto’s Just for Laughs Festival, debuting at the prestigious Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and performing at all major Canadian comedy festivals, including JFL Vancouver, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Halifax Comedy Festival.

A regular on CBC’s series The Debaters, Kim is also a Canadian Screen Award-winning writer and producer. She has joined the writing rooms for top TV shows, including Kim’s Convenience, Run the Burbs, and Still Standing. She has been a key member of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival’s writing and creative consulting team for several years and played an integral role in the 2022 and 2023 JUNO Awards as a writer and producer for host Simu Liu, ideating his now-viral “I Am Canadian” monologue.

Included on VIBE’s 2023 list of POWER 60: Inspiring Asian-Canadians of Influence alongside notable honourees like Lilly Singh, Andrew Phung, and Russell Peters, Julie Kim has built a fervent fanbase across Canada, selling out shows in multiple cities. With her “Doing Too Much Comedy Tour,” she’s levelling up, teaming up with one of Canada’s top promoters to bring her mission of spreading happiness, lightening hearts, and uniting through laughter to even larger audiences. No amount of mom-shaming will stand in her way!
