CloZure – “Criminal Mind” [Song Review]
Tight songcraft and sharp-eyed lyrics allow Lleshi to utilize her bravura voice to lift CloZure to the level of superlative.
Nu-rock/alt-metal outfit CloZure releases their new single, “Criminal Mind,” following on the heels of “Nevermore” and “The Devil Effect,” both released in 2024.
Recently signed to Pepper Gomez’s Wake Up! Music Rocks label, “Criminal Mind,” is CloZure’s debut under the badge of Wake Up! Music Rocks.. Formed in 2012, last year, CloZure took a bold step, becoming a female-fronted band. The addition of vocalist Nikollaj Lleshi changed the band’s sound, presence, and look.
Along with Lleshi (lead vocals), CloZure is made up of Michael Cordle (lead guitar), Matthew Russell (rhythm guitar), Michael McCann (drums), and Zack Taylor (bass). CloZure just finished touring with Fozzy.
“Criminal Mind” opens on emerging tones that segue to potent guitars riding McCann’s powerful percussion. Lleshi’s lushly euphonious voice, at once wickedly sensual and formidable, counterbalances the muscular harmonic dynamics of the melody, a blend of nu-rock and alt-metal. Lleshi’s vocals summon up suggestions of Amy Lee, only with more scope and sustaining force.
Tight songcraft and sharp-eyed lyrics allow Lleshi to utilize her bravura voice to lift CloZure to the level of superlative.
