Chrissy Costanza and Voilà Team Up for Pop Rock Party at Manchester Academy 3 [Photos]

Taking time out from her role as vocalist for hugely popular American pop-rockers Against The Current, vocal powerhouse Chrissy Costanza arrived in the UK for the opening night of her debut co-headliner with fellow American pop-rock duo Voilà.

A hot ticket judging by the lack of any space left in the Academy 3 by the time the show kicked off, the pair teamed up for a night that offered plenty of surprises and memorable moments. A whirlwind of energy, Costanza teamed up with Voilà as the two acts ran through collaborations, solo performances and cover versions over the course of a mammoth twenty-eight song set with something for everybody kicking off with Voilà track “Caught It”.

Taking centre stage for the first few tracks, Voilà set the tone for the evening before handing over the limelight to Costanza who treats a selection of tracks including a nod back to Against The Current in the form of a cover of “Wildfires”.

The set then progresses in a similar format as the pair trade places and co-perform a set that includes a fair mix from both acts including “Long Story Short” and “Glass Half Empty” while Costanza offers up her own contributions in the form of “Pick Your Poison”, “Perfect Crime” and “The Phoenix”.

Heading towards the end of the finale of this twist on the usual gig formula, Costanza powers through “Legends Never Die” before a final collab of recent single “7 Minutes in Hell” brings this opening night to a storming conclusion.
