Canadian rock institution Arkells touched down at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena accompanied by K.Flay for a night of their best hits.
Arkells and their “Big Feelings Tour” landed in Vancouver’s Rogers Arena on Friday, November 15th. The Juno Award-winning band had the fans jumping and dancing all night long with their music and with the help of American artist K.Flay.
K.Flay captivated the fans with her high energy on stage and unique dance moves and songs. Some of the songs she performed were “Weirdo,” “High Enough,” “Punisher,” and “TGIF.”
Arkells came to the stage, and it was all black. They all showed up with lights in their hands of different colours and opened their set with “Come to Light,” the perfect setup for the song. For the second song, they welcomed K.Flay back and performed “You Can Get It.”
In the middle of their set, Max Kerman (lead vocals and rhythm guitar) brought a young fan to the stage to help him sing “Past Life,” it was truly a remarkable moment for her.
Max and Mike DeAngelis (lead guitar) head to the middle of the crowd to a secondary stage with a street phone. The phone started ringing, and when Max answered, there was a recording of a fan requesting the song “Nobody Gets Me Like You Do” which he already sang a few lines of it because a fan in the crowd requested it.
To add a different flavour to the night, they covered “9 to 5” by Dolly Parton and closed their set with “Knocking at the Door.” Leaving the arena without at least one more song was not in the fans’ minds, and the fans had to return for a three-song encore where they performed “Dancing on My Own,” “My Heart’s Always Yours,” and “Leather Jacket.”
