Animal Feelings, the musical project of producer and pianist Oli Chang, releases a new single/music video, “Big & Blue,” Part 1 of the forthcoming album, Plastic Life. The songs on Plastic Life are anthems for change, meant to strike a chord in people and inspire them to action.

Animal Feelings shares, “Music has always been a universal language, and we’re using it to speak up for our planet. Each track on ‘Plastic Life’ tells a story, one that we hope will move people to join us in our fight against plastic pollution.”

The Plastic Life campaign was created by Animals Feelings and Scott Dagg. The partnered with Oceanburn, whose role is the development of the Plastic Life Marketplace, a platform enabling people to reduce their utilization of plastic.

In 2010, Chang and Jack Milas formed High Highs, which signed with Rocket Records and went on to significant success. As a solo project, Chang’s music has been featured in films such as Pitch Perfect, Santa Camp, Sleeping with Other People, For a Good Time Call, as well as TV shows including Grey’s Anatomy, Nurse Jackie and Teen Wolf.

“Big & Blue” opens on a delicately coruscating piano that takes on psychedelic-lite surfaces, gliding, shimmering, and percolating with sparkling colors and vague hints of jazz. Animal Feelings’ dreamy, beckoning vocals imbue the lyrics with alluring, quixotic tones as soft, glossy harmonies add luxurious dimension to the song.

Almost ethereal, almost ambient, Animal Feelings’ “Big & Blue” shapes a lush, gorgeously summoning soundscape.
