Having already announced nineteen bands for what promises to be its hottest summer yet, Bloodstock Open Air organisers have now released the second wave of acts confirmed for their 2025 event.

The Ronnie James Dio stage on Friday will see an appearance from classic thrashers Flotsam & Jetsam. Joining them will be hotly-tipped deathcore upstarts Paleface Swiss.

Industrial metal icons Ministry jet in as RJD stage special guests on Saturday night, in their first ever Bloodstock appearance. Also added to the RJD line-up that day are LA legends Fear Factory (playing their seminal 1995 album Demanufacture in full!), fast-rising metalcore moshers Heriot, full-pelt thrash overlords Warbringer, and furious hardcore bruisers Cage Fight.

If that isn’t enough, Sunday’s main stage additions see the festival adding boundary pushing, tech-death squad Rivers of Nihil.

On Friday, the Sophie Lancaster stage has confirmed the infamous and uber rare Nailbomb marking 30 years since their iconic set at Dynamo 1995! Self-proclaimed death popsters High Parasite who feature Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride) will also make an appearance.

Saturday on the Sophie stage now includes New York-based, death metal crew Undeath while Texan doom-come-trad-metal headbangers Spirit Adrift and brutal Swedish aggressors Thrown join the party on Sophie, on Sunday.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
