Anna Wolf Premieres Her “Free” Music Video
As an artist, Anna Wolf is committed to her vision and you get a glimpse of that vision with the premiere of her music video for “Free.”
Contrary to many bands and musicians, Anna Wolf isn’t content just to put out a new song or record. There’s a vision to everything, and nothing she does just comes about accidentally. The London-based Wolf recently released her new single “Free.”
Today, we premiere the accompanying visuals for the song, a video she had a large hand in putting together. The song features Wolf’s cinematic soundscapes and mishmash of styles that audiences are beginning to become quite familiar with. “Free” features both quiet and intense parts with many gripping moments along the way.
The video is extremely unique, too, with Wolf etching out her own place as one of today’s most exceptional female vocalists.
Commenting on the song and its interplay with the video, Wolf states:
“The song together with the music video is a direct depiction of how my brain works and how quickly it can jump from one contrast to the next. You hear this in the use of instrumentation and production. I am incredibly proud of the magic that this track holds and I trust that the listener will feel the same freedom as I did when I wrote it.”
Raised in Pretoria, South Africa and now based in London, Wolf describes herself as a multifaceted artist. This goes back to her childhood when she would imagine herself as being everything or each component of everything. She has applied that to her artistry, where no goal or intention is too lofty. She is completely self-taught, beginning to write songs at the age of five. That do-it-yourself, resilient attitude is quite apparent through her music.
It’s an exciting time for Wolf as she currently works away at completing a new studio album. Due for release in early 2025, she is currently recording in Nashville at Cash Cabin Studios, a studio that Johnny Cash built for himself in 1979. This upcoming album will be unlike anything she has ever done before. Her goal is to base the record around acoustic guitar and tribal sounds and combine it with some relatable storytelling. Beyond her natural talent, Wolf’s free-spiritedness and anthemic songwriting make her an exciting young talent to keep an ear out.
