Adrienne Iapalucci Announces Netflix Standup Special Directed by Louis C.K.
Directed by Louis C.K., Netflix has announced that Adrienne Iapalucci’s comedy special ‘The Dark Queen’ will be released on November 12th.
Joe Rogan and Louis C.K. praised Adrienne Iapalucci as one of America’s funniest comedians. Now, on November 12th, Netflix releases Adrienne Iapalucci’s new special, The Dark Queen, directed by Louis C.K. and produced by Ari Shaffir.
Adrienne takes aim at our public figures, awkward tribute tattoos, virtue signalling, and more in this unfiltered stand-up special. The acclaimed comedian filmed the special at New York’s famed Comedy Cellar last fall, but since Adrienne’s always two steps ahead of the culture, the jokes are tied right into the 2024 zeitgeist. (Gaza jokes? Election 2024 jokes? She’s got ‘em all!)
Adrienne has been one of comedians’ favourite comedians for years. She was recommended to Ted Sarandos by Patton Oswalt after she opened for him, which led to her previous performance in Netflix’s 2019 stand-up show The Degenerates and Best of 2020 Stand-Up. Her comedy has received high praise from fellow comedians Neal Brennan, Chris Rock, Anthony Jeselnik, and others. The Dark Queen is the first time Louis C.K. has directed another comedian’s special for Netflix, and it’s Ari Shaffir’s most recent production since Sal Vulcano: Terrified and Big Jay Oakerson: Dog Belly.
Adrienne is a comedian, writer, and performer based in New York. As a stand-up, Adrienne is a JFL New Faces alum. She won the first-ever People’s Choice award at the New York Comedy Festival and made her debut on NBC’s Last Comic Standing. Her Degenerates special was also on Netflix, and one of her jokes was featured in Netflix’s Best of 2020 Stand-Up special.
She has appeared on the Joe Rogan Experience, Are You Garbage, This Week at the Comedy Cellar, The Late Show with David Letterman, and more. She released her debut album, Baby Skeletons, in 2020. It was named Interrobang’s “Top Eleven Comedy Albums” of 2020, and it was met with high praise from fellow comedians Neal Brennan, Patton Oswalt, Chris Rock, Anthony Jeselnik, and others.
