In one way or another, Ward Richmond’s backstory and evolution is something we can all relate with. He’s getting the ball rolling today with the premiere of the lyric video for his new single “Spaciousness.” It happens to be the title track of his new album which was just released earlier this month. The Dallas-born Richmond is a true jack of all trades. He is not only a musician, but a podcaster and a commercial real estate entrepreneur. When you wear so many different hats in life, you learn a lot about yourself and the world around you. The path to here is all the more unlikely if you know anything about Richmond’s past.

Commenting on the inspiration behind “Spaciousness,” he tells us:

“The melody of the song came to me in a a dream. I based the lyrics off of the messaging from one of my favourite books, The Freedom Transmissions, written by my friend Carissa Schumacher who is a full body channel for Yeshua.”

As a youngster and into his adult years, Richmond lived, you could say, a reckless life. Early in his musical career, he got into drugs and his life started going off the rails. Living a life stuck in the stranglehold of addiction is enough to break anyone. But Richmond was able to break free and pursue a higher purpose. Spaciousness is a look into his ongoing journey in pursuit of peace and balance. It’s meant to cherish living in the moment, making the right choices in life that promote peace of mind, and writing music that embodies an essence of spaciousness.

As an individual, Richmond has completely evolved over the last decade. In that time, he has learned meditation and breathwork, trained in yoga, learned marketing and sales, developed his business skills, become a better writer, and learned how to be spiritual. He has also launched a podcast entitled ‘Truckin’ On w/ Ward Richmond.’ For Spaciousness, Richmond has learned how to lean into faith, forgiveness, and freedom. And as he continues to evolve personally, emotionally, and spiritually, Richmond hopes that it also makes him a better musician.

Your backstory may be completely different, but the concepts are mostly similar. As they say, the truth shall set you free. And Richmond has successfully made the truth his ally in a remarkable personal journey that is still evolving.
