The Dangerous Summer and Broadside Get Emotional in Manchester [Photos]
The Dangerous Summer and Broadside brought some passion and emotion to Manchester Academy 3. Check out the photos here…
It’s been a busy 2024 for Maryland rock troop The Dangerous Summer. Fresh from visiting the UK to take part in the Summer alt-rock festival Slam Dunk, the band also dropped their new album Gravity through Rude Records earlier this Summer.
Continuing the momentum, the band arrived in the UK for a 15-date UK tour which took them the length and breadth of the country. Joining the band on the run of shows were Virginia pop-punk band Broadside and Edinburgh alt/rock quartet Happydaze.
Like the headliners, Broadside are a huge hit with this audience. Having been earning their stripes since 2010, the Virginia band pack grit, emotion and passion into their short stint on stage with all of this combining for a jarring and emotional “The Raging Sea” the opening track lifted from their 2020 album Into The Raging Sea.
As for The Dangerous Summer, the band are riding high off the back of their tenth studio album Gravity (out now through Rude Records). Opening with the title track of the acclaimed album, it feels like the sixty-five-minute set almost flies by with the band dipping into the album again for more album cuts like “Pacific Ocean”, and “What’s An Hour Really Worth?”.
To make the night just that little bit more memorable for these fans, the band wrapped up their main set with “The Permanent Rain” seeing frontman AJ taking to the crowd to get up close and personal.
V13 sent Katie Probert down to the show in Manchester and you can check out the gallery of photos from the gig here.
