The Berlin-based trio, Swiss Pleasure, have just released their new EP, Heliotropia. Known for their eclectic mix of dream pop, post-punk, stoner rock, psych, and jazz influences—the group not only showcases their diverse sound but also their dedication to creating music with depth and authenticity with the release.

Recorded at Berlin’s Butterama Recording Center—home to artists like Erlend Oye and Laura Lee—the EP captures a nostalgic yet contemporary sound that blends modern indie vibes into a jazz-infused musical atmosphere.

The EP opens with the title track “Heliotropia,” a haunting composition featuring evocative vocals paired with oceanic percussion and nostalgia-inducing synths. “2009” follows with a raw, indie-rock energy reminiscent of Sonic Youth, exploring themes of envy and self-reflection.

“Charcoal” offers a tale of disillusionment wrapped in upbeat rhythms, drawing comparisons to Peter, Bjorn and John and Alvvays. The final track, “Orange Moon,” stands out as a poignant anti-war anthem, combining soft, nostalgic melodies with urgent, thought-provoking elements.

In its totality, Swiss Pleasure’s new EP accomplishes what the group seems to be about—creating a vulnerable, honest and unified body of work. That care for character is evident both in the content and delivery on an EP that is sonically mature for a group still so young.
