RGB Top 10 Signs You Are Turning Green (And No, We’re Not Talking About Recycling)
Fresh off the recent release of their new record ‘A Place For Lovers,’ RGB count down their Top 10 signs you are turning green.
Positivity always wins out over negativity, which is part of the driving force behind RGB. Their recently released sophomore album, A Place For Lovers, is a place for you. The band intends their music to be a warm, welcoming environment while warding off the demons that haunt us. More specifically, the album reflects on the ups and downs of the love story behind the songwriting team Roy Bartal and Noi Agam. Through all 13 tracks, the album is put together like a book. It follows a pattern of exposition, conflict, climax, resolution, and epilogue. A Place For Lovers has been in the works for quite a while now, and the band hopes it can lend listeners some level of comfort or peace of mind.
The band’s name, RGB, actually stands for Red, Green, and Blue. These are the three main colours of the subpixels of computer and smartphone screens. They are set to different intensities to form all of the colour combinations that the human eye sees. The band’s name and aesthetic were inspired by Bartal’s background in graphic design. Just like changing colours of pixels on a screen, the members of RGB view music as adjustable based on feeling or mood. The ultimate purpose is to add some colour to your life.
Colour is such an integral element of the band, so RGB join us for a wacky and witty Top 10, running down ten reasons you are turning green. And it’s got nothing to do with being environmental.
1. You’ve become strangely obsessed with Kermit the Frog.
“It starts small—maybe a couple of memes, a cute plush, or a rerun of The Muppet Show. But soon, you’re defending Kermit’s honour in heated debates and quoting his words of wisdom like gospel. His green skin? Totally relatable. You’ve reached a point where ‘I’m Having a Me Party’ from The Muppets Movie lives rent-free in your head, and honestly, it’s the anthem of your life right now.”
2. You’ve been scrolling on social media for three hours, feeling jealous, envious, and a little nauseous.
“It starts innocently enough—just checking Instagram to kill some time. But then, you hit a spiral: everyone else seems to have it together, and here you are, comparing your life to influencers who seem to be permanently on vacation. No doubt in your mind now, that everyone is more successful, happier, and definitely better looking. The green-eyed monster of envy creeps in, turning your scrolling session into a full-on crisis. You’ve hit peak green, and it’s not the good kind.”
3. You’ve been smoking a little too much and are way too comfy in your numbness.
“Whether it’s the green herb or just one too many indulgent nights in, you’re feeling a little too comfortable in your current numb state. You’re lounging in your favourite spot, zoned out, and watching your thoughts drift by like clouds. You’re so at ease that the idea of moving feels almost foreign. To make things worse, you’re not so honest with your therapist when she says, ‘Just a little bit, right?’ because honestly, you kind of love this cozy numbness.”
4. Late-night cartoon marathons of Scooby-Doo and other classics are your new thing.
“You swore you’d just watch one episode. But three hours later, you’re deep into a Scooby-Doo marathon, laughing at the absurdity of it all and marvelling at the green ghosts that used to freak you out as a kid. And let’s face it: you envy the fun and adventure they have—the friendship, the mystery-solving. Who knew you could feel so jealous of a talking dog? But here you are.”
5. You’ve suddenly noticed the moon, and it seems prettier than ever before.
“Everyone always talks about the sun—how it’s bright and warm, bringing life to everything. But lately, you can’t stop staring at the moon. It’s mysterious, ever-changing, and somehow more fascinating than the sun could ever be. You’re convinced it has secrets to tell, and you’re more than ready to listen.”
6. Life feels like an emotional rollercoaster from extreme lows to wild highs.
“Your emotions have been all over the place lately, bouncing from deep sadness to moments of almost manic joy. You’ve started to see your feelings in shades of green—jealousy, envy, hope, renewal. The colour has seeped into everything, making your emotional swings feel like a twisted game of ping-pong where you’re never quite sure where the ball will land. It’s exhausting, but there’s also something thrilling about living on the edge of your own sanity.”
7. You’ve watched The Grinch way too many times this week, and it’s mid-August.
“It’s not even close to the holiday season, but somehow, you’ve binge-watched The Grinch so many times that you’re starting to become him. Your patience for other people’s joy has hit an all-time low, and you find yourself rolling your eyes at anyone remotely cheerful. The sound of laughter? Nails on a chalkboard. You’ve caught yourself muttering things like, ‘I hate people,’ and contemplating whether you could actually pull off a full-on Grinch-style holiday heist. Forget Christmas, you’re over everything with a hint of cheer, and it’s still summer.”
8. You miss your grandma and wish you could escape life to quietly garden with her.
“Remember when life was simpler? When you could spend afternoons with your grandma, tending to her garden, and it felt like all the worries in the world melted away? That’s where your mind keeps drifting now. You fantasize about escaping the noise of life and living a quiet existence, planting green tomatoes and herbs with her, just the two of you. It sounds like heaven—an oasis of green in a world that’s gotten a little too loud.”
9. Your house is overflowing with plants, and you keep track of every new leaf.
“It started with one little succulent, but now your home looks like a botanical garden. You’ve got plants in every corner—hanging from the ceiling, lining the windowsills, and even perched on shelves. Each new leaf is cause for celebration, but it’s more than that—you see every tiny change as a reflection of yourself. When a plant thrives, you feel like you’re thriving too. Your friends may laugh, but this is your jungle now, and it’s the only green thing in your life that makes sense.”
10. You’re doubting everything you’ve ever done, but weirdly, you’re also hopeful.
“Self-reflection can be brutal, and lately, you’ve been doing a lot of it. Every decision, every action—you’re questioning it all. But strangely enough, amidst the doubts, there’s a spark of hope. You start to imagine reinventing yourself—maybe getting a fresh start, maybe turning into the best version of yourself yet. Green, in its way, symbolizes growth, after all. You might not have all the answers, but you’re ready to take on whatever comes next.”
