Pleasing Release New Single “black leather boots”
Luxembourg-based trio Pleasing has released “black leather boots,” the third single off their upcoming new EP.
Luxembourg-based trio Pleasing has released “black leather boots,” the third single off their upcoming new EP due for release this fall via label Two Steps Twice.
Since the formation of Pleasing, in the midst of Patrick Miranda’s search for relief from complicated emotions, the alias have been embarking on a journey of exploring often stigmatized topics of depression, loneliness, meaningless, and the attempts to learn to live with those feelings, appealing to various audiences and securing spots at major French festivals Motorcultor and Francofolies de la Rochelle in 2023. Now about to release the second of the two interlinked EPs, Pleasing is continuing their search of deeper meanings, aiming to extend their reach towards more audiences and territories.
After releasing singles “bleak” and “there’s something wrong with everybody” earlier this year, Pleasing are back with “black leather boots,” a song that delves into the raw and deeply personal experience of living with unresolved trauma, particularly the lingering effects of a troubled relationship. The imagery of climbing a “mountain of trauma” symbolizes the ongoing struggle with emotional pain and the triggers that surface with every step forward.
Pleasing is performing at Reeperbahn Festival today in Hamburg and will play SWN Festival in Cardiff this autumn.
