Mythology Unveils New Album ‘The Story of Sound’
Northern New Jersey band, Mythology, is back with their highly anticipated sixth album, The Story of Sound. Led by Brynen A. Sosa, the group is known for its careful craftsmanship, energetic live shows, and a self-described “high standard of excellence”—and the new album lives up to their standard.
Drawing inspiration from icons like Yes, Rush, and Pink Floyd, Mythology blends heartfelt lyrics with, at times, a touch of humor. The Story of Sound is a playful concept piece that tells the whimsical story of the man who invented music, sprinkled with personal insights and unexpected twists. Sosa describes it as more than just music—it’s a theatrical journey filled with both drama and fun.
The band also experimented sonically on the new record, incorporating MIDI and electronic elements that add fresh sheen to the collection of songs. With drummer Jordan Morrissey and bassist Dave Lockhart, Sosa creates a musical chemistry that feels both natural and engaging—and compositionally mature.
The Story of Sound showcases Mythology’s uniquely creative approach to music, transporting listeners on an exciting sonic experience that fuses classic influences with a modern touch. Fans can look forward to experiencing the vibrant soundscapes Mythology has crafted this time around. Listen to the new album—now streaming everywhere.
