With Jazz Cafe festival just around the corner, what better time than now to announce the listings for Autumn/Winter 2024? To nobody’s surprise, the list is jam-packed with the best of Rap, RnB, Dub, Brazilian, Global, Soul, Jazz, New Wave and Electronic that the globe has to offer.

A quick reminder for those that don’t know: Jazz Cafe makes its festival debut on Sunday 15th of September, boasting the likes of Nils Frahm, Earl Sweatshirt, Gilles Peterson, Ojerime, Eliza, Buena Vista Allstars and much, much more.

Kicking off the season with easily the most influential hip-hop producer of the modern age, The Alchemist. He’s seen both commercial and underground success consistently throughout his almost 30-year career; he is set to hit the stage on September 13. Other hip-hop legends gracing the stage this season include Talib Kweli, DJ Paul of Three 6 Mafia and young legends Pink Siifu and Turich Benjy on November 13.

In true jazz Cafe fashion, Richard Spaven, one of the most innovative drummers in the contemporary jazz scene, takes to the stage on September 30 to perform his genre-blurring style, blending jazz, electronic, and hip-hop. For fans of Richard Spaven, I suggest checking out Butcher Brown, a jazz quintet who similarly blurs the lines between jazz and Hip Hop, also performing on November 23rd. Jazz pianist Greg Foat and Ayo Salawu will take their fusion of Analog Electronic Sci-Fi Library Grooves inspired by the 70s and 80s Sonoton catalogue to the Jazz Cafe this September alongside special guest Joe Armon Jones.

Jazz Cafe have built their legacy on promoting artists from a vast number of Genres from every corner of the globe. This tradition is very much still alive, with acclaimed soundsystem frontrunners Dub Pistols appearing for a special Christmas set on December 20th. Leading the British Reggae scene for over 20 years, the band have earned icon status working alongside the likes of The Specials and Madness. Not to mention, Brazilian vocalist and Latin Grammy Winner Dora Morelenbaum will take over, drawing from her rich heritage to deliver a blend of bossa nova, jazz, and contemporary Brazilian music.

Another season of Jazz Cafe means another Season of the much-loved Mahalia Presents. A night full of talent curated by British singer/songwriter Mahalia, offering a glimpse into the future of R&B and soul which takes place on November 16th. Fans yearning for more will enjoy the experimental R&B sounds of Foushee performing on the 7th of October ahead of her upcoming album.

Head into Autumn alongside the most diverse and talented lineup yet at London’s intimate cultural hotspot. Relish in the sounds of global pioneers and discover new music from the future of RnB, Hip Hop to Electronic and World music.
