Glass Animals Bring the “Tour of Earth” to Vancouver with Eyedress [Photos]
After a several year absence, English indie rockers Glass Animals finally arrived back in Vancouver for their “Tour of Earth” with Eyedress.
Glass Animals landed their Tour of Earth at the Rogers Arena on September 8th. The English band brought their pop-rock sound back to Vancouver five years after their last show in the area. After the massive success they have been experiencing lately after their single “Heat Wave” blew up on social media, it was the right time to come back.
Eyedress is touring along with the band and brought their mix of alternative sounds to the Vancouverites. They performed their most popular songs like “Jealous,” “Something About You,” “Romantic Lover,” and “Cocaine Sunday.”
Glass Animals had a nice stage set up for them, resembling the inside of a spaceship, matching the tour’s theme. They open their set with “Life Itself” behind a curtain with the Phrase “I Love You So F***ing Much.”
In the middle of the set, for song number eight, Dave Bayley (vocalist) moved a secondary stage in the middle of the crowd and performed one of their first hit songs, “Gooey,” from their debut album Zaba.
When performing “Take A Slice” Bayley grabbed a pineapple that was by the stage and gave it to one of the fans and mentioned he had never seen someone get that happy for a pineapple.
Other songs in their set included “Youth,” “Show Pony,” and “Tokyo Drifting,” and to close things out, they performed “Pork Soda,” leaving the stage after this one. The fans gave them a standing ovation for over two minutes, and the band had to return for the encore, where they performed “The Other Side of Paradise” and “Heat Waves.”
