Five Finger Death Punch brought all heavy metal fans from Metro Vancouver to the Rogers Arena on August 27th.

The band, soon celebrating its 20th anniversary, embarked on a summer and fall tour covering all of North America. They have brought along with them The Funeral Portrait, Slaughter to Prevail, and Marilyn Manson.

The Funeral Portrait was the first to hit the stage, sounding like a mid-2000s emo rock band. They open their set with “Blood Mother,” from their latest album of the same name. They had a short five-song set, but it was enough to keep the crowd entertained.

The Russian deathcore masked band Slaughter to Prevail took over the stage with an aggressive presentation. I saw a few masked fans ready to headbang along.

They opened their set with “Bonebreaker” and closed out with “Kid of Darkness” and “Baba Yaga.”

Marilyn Manson, who is back on the stages after a few years of hiatus, started his performance behind a black curtain that dropped once he started singing “We Know Where You Fucking Live.” The crowd was euphoric, and he expressed how glad he was to be back.

He continued performing songs from all over his discography, like “Angel With the Scabbed Wings,” “Say10,” “mOBSCENE.,” and closed with “The Beautiful People.”

It was the time for Five Finger Death Punch, and they did not disappoint. They open their set with “Welcome to the Circus,” “Lift Me Up,” and “Trouble.” The entire band interacted with the fans and even the photographers, posing for us and giving us guitar picks.

After the fifth song, “Jekyll and Hyde,” the band left the stage. They returned to perform “Sham Pain,” and lead singer Ivan Moody came with a change of outfit, and mid-song, confetti was flying all over the place.

They closed their set with “Salvation” and “IOU.” They HAD to return to the stage, with the fans wanting more. The band returned and did not disappoint with an encore of “Under and Over It,” “Never Enough,” and “The Bleeding.”
