Evil Dead The Musical Reveals Full Cast for 20th Anniversary Run
Ahead of its return to The Randolph Theatre in Toronto next month, Evil Dead The Musical has announced its full cast.
Due to an overwhelming public demand, Starvox Entertainment has opened a new block of tickets for the highly anticipated return of Evil Dead The Musical. The hilariously gruesome production, which returns home to Toronto after a seven-year absence, has extended its run through November 24th and features an all-new cast.
Leading the cast in the role of chainsaw-wielding hero Ash is Aaron Robinson, who will be making his Toronto theatre debut. A native of Springfield, Kentucky, Aaron is active in the theatre community in New York and has toured extensively throughout the U.S. in productions of Little Women (John Brooke) and A Charlie Brown Christmas (Charlie Brown), The Music Man (Harold Hill) and Guys and Dolls (Nathan Detroit) at the Wagon Wheel Theatre, and Newsies (Davey) with The Lexington Theatre Company.
Pascale Behrman, who will take on the dual role of Shelly and Annie, is making her Starvox debut. She recently played the roles of Horse & Mom in The Velveteen Rabbit (Carousel Players), and her short film, J’ACCUSE, a comedy about an extramarital affair, is now making its festival run.
Taking on the role of Ash’s girlfriend, Linda is Burlington, Ontario’s Kendra Brophy. Her impressive credits include Cirque du Soleil SPIRIT (Cirque du Soleil), Godspell, Alice in Newfoundland (Stirling Festival Theatre), Highland Echoes (Appalachian Theatre), The Spongebob Musical, Sleeping Beauty Panto, Cinderella: Step Sisters’ Revenge (Mansfield Entertainment) Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo (Edinburgh Castle).
Aimée Tremblay Woodman plays Cheryl, Ash’s sweet and innocent younger sister. A Toronto-based Franco-Ontarian performer, Aimée’s recent roles include Ophélie in Les Zinspiré.e.s: Onze Calme et On Continue with Le Théâtre Français de Toronto, Eleven in Stranger Things: The Experience. Outside of performing, Aimée is also a sought-after voice, piano, and acting coach.
Rounding out the cast are Duncan Lang as Jake (Theatre Orangeville, Shifting Ground Collective), David Fox as Fake Shemp (Winnipeg Broadway Theatre Co.), Jean Blandon as Scott (Drayton Entertainment) and Charlie Clements as Ed (Sheridan College). Taryn Wichenko (Lower Ossington Theatre) will understudy the roles of Linda and Cheryl.
The production’s creative team includes co-creator Christopher Bond (Director), Aaron Eyre (Musical Director) Stacey Renee Maroske (Choreographer), Kevin Robinson (Fight Director), Gareth Crew (Lighting Designer), and Corwin Ferguson (Video/Projection Designer), Claudia Kada (Costume Designer), Michael Laird (Original Sound Design & Sound Consultation), Ryan Borshuk (Associate Sound Design), and Lindsay Anne Black (Set Design).
Dubbed the next Rocky Horror by The New York Times, the Canadian laugh-out-loud campy musical based on Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead movie series was last presented in Toronto in 2017. The anniversary production opens in October at The Randolph Theatre, 736 Bathurst St. Tickets are available online at www.eviliscoming.ca.
