Singer-songwriter Dave Tamkin, known for his unique style of rhythmic acoustic music, is set to captivate audiences with two special performances this October. Tamkin, who currently resides in Madison, WI, has roots in Boulder, CO, and Chicago, IL. He has developed a fresh musical vision, blending heartfelt personal lyrics with skilled songwriting and high-energy percussion.

Tamkin’s shows range from intimate solo sets to dynamic full-band performances with his ensemble, Dave Tamkin & Co., which features Brad Huffman on guitar and vocals and Bryan Sansom on drums. In support of local causes, Dave Tamkin & Co. will donate a portion of their merchandise sales to The Buddy Foundation, a no-kill animal shelter in Arlington Heights, during the Hey Nonny show. At the Harmony Bar & Grill performance, proceeds will go to Czar’s Promise, a Madison-based nonprofit supporting animals and families dealing with cancer.

Both events promise an immersive blend of personal storytelling, rhythmic acoustics, and captivating energy.

Aside from his musical talents, Tamkin is also co-host of the popular podcast Musicians Tip Jar, where he and co-host Chris Webb dive into the financial aspects of the music industry. With over 100 episodes, the podcast has become an invaluable resource for musicians navigating the business side of their careers. Tamkin is also an educator, co-writing a course on financial literacy for musicians taught at the University of Colorado Denver.
