Cory Cooper Premieres His Passionate “Part of Me” Single & Music Video
Pop singer-songwriter Cory Cooper channels his sorrow and pain into the premiere of his brand-new single “Part of Me.”
Emotions can weigh you down like an anvil, and doesn’t Cory Cooper know a thing or two about that? But he turned negative feelings into positive ones and churned out his latest single, “Part of Me.” The song focuses on the agony and grief of losing someone close to you. People deal with loss in so many different ways.
As a musician, Cooper’s outlet is naturally songwriting, so he threw everything he had into this song. You can feel the weight within the lyrics and Cooper’s delicate piano playing. His woe is evident in every word and every declaration.
Discussing “Part of Me,” Cooper tells us:
“I knew I wanted to sing about all the emotions I experienced when I recently lost someone who was very close to me. That traumatic experience changed my world, and the song is deeply personal. I’m so grateful for (producer) Mikal’s (Blue) guidance in helping me explore such a personal experience and turn those emotions into the lyrics and music.”
This is Cooper’s second collaboration with producer Mikal Blue, who has become an invaluable mentor to the singer-songwriter. Despite the sorrowful tone of “Part of Me,” Cooper is a versatile songwriter. Based in Los Angeles, his songs vary from higher-tempo dancefloor bangers to power ballads to more introspective guitar and piano ballads. His vocals are energetic, vulnerable, bright, and bold, depending on the song’s tone. Inspired by Harry Styles, Shawn Mendes, Lady Gaga, Dua Lipa, and Tina Turner, Cooper aims to bring his unique perspective to modern pop music. He looks forward to expanding his horizons and sharing that unique approach onstage with live audiences.
