Brooke Moriber – ‘All Heart’ [EP] [Album Review]
Highlighting the soulful power of the voice of Brooke Moriber, ‘All Heart’ (Reviver Records) embraces a daring, innovative structure that’s quite compelling.
Country-pop singer-songwriter Brooke Moriber recently unveiled her new EP, All Heart, a collection of her recent singles, including “So Do I” and “More Love,” along with an entrancing acoustic version of the EP’s title track.
A native of New York, Moriber’s musical career began at a young age, performing on Broadway, followed by using songwriting to cope with a rare eye disease that caused her to lose her eyesight. After four years, the disease went into remission, allowing her to travel to Nashville. In 2019, she released her debut single, “Cry Like A Girl,” and later signed with Reviver Records.
Brooke’s music has been featured on Spotify’s ‘New Music Friday Country’ (“Half A Heart,” “Little Bit Of You,” “Down to Nothing”) and Country Christmas playlists (“All I Want for Christmas is You”), Sirius XM’s Velvet, CMT online, Music Choice Network, and the Music Row Country Breakout radio chart.
This year, Moriber launched her bi-monthly ‘Nashville In New York’ (NINY) songwriters’ series, hosting and performing in shows that have been selling out to crowds experiencing a Nashville-style writer round at The Bitter End.
On September 22nd, Moriber will perform a ‘Nashville in Denver’ set at Wild Goose Saloon in Parker, Colorado. She will be joined by Matt Stell, Erin Kinsey, Charlie Worsham, label mate Randall Fowler, guest MC Jim Murphy from Music Choice Network, plus special guest star Kenya Reese. On October 10th, she will be at Spotlight at The Paramount in Huntington, NY, where Brooke and the band will play an opening set for Elle King.
Encompassing five tracks, entry points on the EP include the electronic version of the title track, a slow heartbreaker, revealing Moriber’s creamy, drawling voice, rich and sensitive. A personal favourite because of its plush twangy flow, “So Do I” starts low and elevates to a soaring motion as Moriber lets her beautiful voice mount.
The acoustic version of the title track permits listeners to immerse themselves in Moriber’s plummy vocals, conveying luscious tonal nuances that ooze deep, quixotic emotions. Under exquisite control, Moriber’s voice evokes the ache of absolute love.
Highlighting the soulful power of the voice of Brooke Moriber, All Heart embraces a daring, innovative structure that’s compelling.
