Brighton Band Hot Juice Release Their New Single “Anxiety”

Hot Juice has released their brand new single, “Anxiety.” They are a four-piece alt-indie band based in Brighton, UK. The band includes frontman Shay Barker, lead guitarist Jude James, bassist Harry Cooper, and drummer Alex Searle. They met in late 2022 after moving to Brighton and have been together since.

Since moving to Brighton, Hot Juice has released the single “Beautiful People” and embarked on a UK Tour with Sabres and Kara Sheen. It included dates in Sheffield, Birmingham, London, Southampton, Bournemouth, Southampton, Portsmouth, and Brighton. They also played Great Escape Festival 2023 with headline shows at Prince Albert, Hope & Ruin, Waterbear Venue, Pipeline, EST, and Rossi Bar.

Discussing the new single “Anxiety,” Barker states:

“Really excited about this release, it’s the start of new exciting Hot Juice. Our new EP Vice City is written from the eyes of living in a new city (in our case Brighton) and how I perceived it through new eyes on both sides of it. This song is about being trapped in your own head through anxiety and almost feeling like you’re a servant to the anxiety.”

Hot Juice will release a new EP in early 2025 titled Take Your Chance. “Anxiety” follows the release of “Beautiful People” late last year.

The band released their This is What You Want album in 2019, which was complemented by two BBC ‘IntroTrack’ of the week, a full album release play-through show, headlining the ‘Made in Jersey’ stage at Weekender Festival, and relentless gigs, including a Southern UK tour.

Their next release was 2021’s Covid Tapes EP while isolating during the pandemic. The EP got two national reviews published, 8/10 from Powerplay Magazine and 7/10, another BBC ‘IntroTrack’ of the week, and an ‘Arthouse Presents Livestream’ showcase at Jersey’s largest venue, Chambers.
