Ahead of a massive home gig in Singapore supporting BabyMetal on August 20th, rising alt-metal outfit Reserate have dropped their introspective new single “The Longing,” the track is lifted from their debut album Introspect out this summer.

The album, self-produced by the band, aims to take listeners on an introspective journey through a deep dive into the complexities of human emotion and experience, each track a rich tapestry of sounds that range from hauntingly beautiful to intensely powerful.

The band’s mantra of “never writing the same song twice” can be heard via the evolution of their sound through each release. From the inception of their unique metalcore sound in their four-track debut EP Infinite Entity to a remixed version of it titled Augmented Entity through to their new album and tracks like “The Longing”, the video of which is premiering here:

Speaking about the single, the band says:

“‘The Longing’ is an anthem, a statement – this is our sing-along track inspired by the musical emo era of 2010s with a twist that we call _Reserate_.”

On the album, the band explain:

“This album is about looking inward and understanding the different facets of our emotions and experiences. We wanted each track to resonate with our listeners and offer them a space to reflect and connect.”

Next up for the band is a huge gig with BabyMetal on August 20th at Capitol Theatre in Singapore where fans will be able to experience their unforgettable live show which the band describe as a “Metal rave set in the future.”

If you’re quick, tickets might still be available from here.

I have an unhealthy obsession with bad horror movies, the song Wanted Dead Or Alive and crap British game shows. I do this not because of the sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll lifestyle it affords me but more because it gives me an excuse to listen to bands that sound like hippos mating.
