Norah Jones delighted the Queen Elizabeth Theatre at the Vancouver stop on her ‘Visions Tour.’ The New York-native singer and songwriter brought her piano and guitars to perform a mix of her old and new songs. For the tour, Jones is bringing along Hurray for the Riff Raff as the opener, and their voices made a perfect match for the show.

Hurray for the Riff Raff started her set with three songs from her latest album, The Pass Is Still Alive, “Alibi,” “Buffalo,” and “Hawkmoon,” and closed out with “Ogallala” from the same album.

Jones started her set sitting at the piano with “What Am I to You?.” It was interesting how the crowd enjoyed each song silently but gave a round of applause after each song, and you could hear some “Norah, I love yous” from time to time.

For the ninth song, she called Hurray for the Riff Raff lead singer Alynda Segarra to the stage to perform “Drunken Angel” by Lucinda Williams.

Jones closed her 17-song set with “Happy Pills” from her album Little Broken Hearts and “Carry On” from her 2016 album Day Breaks. She thanked her fans and left the stage. The fans were hungry to hear more of Norah, and after over a minute of a standing ovation, Norah and the band had to return to the stage and keep the show going.

For the encore, she covered two songs, “Long Way Home” by Tom Waits and “Don’t Know Why” by Jesse Harris & the Ferdinandos. Overall, a nice night of songs and music.
