Marble Premiere Their Flashy “Theater Is My Essence” Music Video
Italian melodic metal band Marble premiere their new music video for “Theater Is My Essence” from their RockShot Records album ‘T.I.M.E.’
The adjective “theatrical” is often used as a descriptive term with negative or critical connotations, but we use it in the opposite sense to describe Marble’s new music video. “Theater Is My Essence” is the first single from the Italian sextet’s upcoming third studio album T.I.M.E. The record was recently announced for a November 8th release through RockShot Records.
As we await its arrival, the band offers morsels from the album, like this splashy new video clip. The video is meant to retrace the several theatrical themes covered within the track listing on T.I.M.E. Each woman is the protagonist of the scene, and time is the medium through which the story of theatre is told.
“Theater Is My Essence” is the closing track on T.I.M.E. it intends to provide the actress’ point of view. This is meant to signify what theatre represents to her in her life. Theatre is her essence because it allows her to be herself and live her life to the fullest.
There’s an interesting concept that Marble has conjured up for this new album, which has come to be expected from them with their last album S.A.V.E., focusing on the deadly sins and theological virtues. The melodic metallers connect the songs on T.I.M.E. by examining the history of Western theatre as viewed through the eyes of female characters. It extends back to the ancient Greeks about 2,500 years ago and moves forward through history.
Other periods covered are the medieval theatre of Southern Italy, Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Moliere’s French theatre of the 1600s, the social change of Chekhov’s Russian theatre, and more. The ending point is Samuel Beckett’s mid-20th century American theatre.
T.I.M.E. is an ambitious project from an equally ambitious band. As an act, Marble is always looking for that next creative mountain to climb. It’s what makes them so unique and helps them stand out amongst their less “theatrical” melodic metal counterparts.
