The anticipation has been building for Lars for some time now, and he’s delivering on that hype today with the premiere of “Hurricane.” The DJ and producer has been a rising star for some time now in his native New York City, and now the national and international exposure is starting to come.

“Hurricane” is a big-time collaboration with vocalist Jay Miles. A total club banger, the song is a journey through the different styles and substyles of electronic music. It combines the pulsating rhythms of future rave, the hypnotic beats of trance, and the melodic side of techno. It also shows why Lars is becoming widely regarded for his production skills. Just ask Armin van Buren, Eric Prydz, Benny Benassi, and MK, who Lars has all supported live.

With some words on the song and what it means to him, Lars shares:

“When I think about creating ‘Hurricane,’ it brings out a lot of emotions for me. The process was a blend of excitement and unrest, much like the track itself. I always pour my heart into my music and love making tracks like this where I am blending genres, pushing creative boundaries, and pulling ideas from my own musical inspirations.

“The track has a lot of energy and the deeper lyrics from Jay Miles really gave it some introspection and vulnerability. You can choose to relate to music however you want, and sometimes a single word or line can do it. When I first heard Jay’s line ‘pick up the pieces of the melody you sang to me,’ it really hit something deep inside of me. My golden rule for releasing a track is that if it makes me feel something, it likely will resonate with others too. When I heard the pairing of his vocals to my track, I knew we created something special and meaningful.

“‘Hurricane’ is a reflection of my journey as an artist. It’s a testament to my passion for music and my willingness to take risks and explore new creative avenues. Every time I listen to it, I’m reminded of the highs and lows of the creative process and the satisfaction of bringing my vision to life.”

The initial encounter between Lars and Miles was, you could say, unexpected. Lars needed a singer, so a message was posted on a Reddit channel of all places. Miles responded to the post and an unlikely collaboration was in the works. Despite a period of silence, the singer presented Lars with some vocals that were a perfect fit. His voice just seemed to go well with the club beats that Lars had concocted. And both the vocals and the beats and grooves manage to not outshine one another.

Lars has been a top-level DJ for over a decade now. In that time he has earned a reputation as one of the world’s preeminent dancefloor DJs. Since he was just a kid, he has had a passion for electronic music. His unique production style allows him to be versatile and bring diversity to his music. Some of the highlights of his career thus far are the energetic house tracks “Poison” and “Dangerous” and his Journey of the Soul EP, which came out earlier this summer. Lars’ music is a commemoration of originality and a look into the present and future of electronic music.
