Joybomb Tear Through Their New “Faith & Chemistry” Video
Memphis rockers Joybomb have shared the video for their newest single, “Faith & Chemistry.” Watch it here, now!
Memphis rockers Joybomb have shared the video for their newest single, “Faith & Chemistry.” The visual captures the band in full-flight as they rip through a sunny banger that finds them reaching deep into their bag of tricks to pull out a bright stick of audio bubblegum that doubles as a plastic explosive.
This new video finds Joybomb back in the saddle with collaborators at Station 8 Productions, serving up a non-narrative performance music video of the classic kind. Fun fact: the host that introduces the band in the intro is none other than Clanton Blaylock, the former drummer for Joybomb who played on the upcoming Modern Scripture EP. This cameo of Blaylock reprising his role of Brother Chuck is a callback to Joybomb’s first team-up with Station 8 in ’22, in which the band wrote and starred in a series of Adult Swim-esque vignettes spliced between a live studio performance.
“Faith & Chemistry” is the second single from Modern Scripture (due out Aug 23) and, with it’s irrepressible hooks and bright dynamicism, delivers a stylistic curveball in the intense wake of the punky Modern Scripture lead-off single “Nanoplastique.” That track harnessed some of Joybomb’s heaviest influences to deliver a tongue-in-cheek homage to a world consumed by microplastics. Leaving absurdity exposed in its wake, the scathing takedown of environmental degradation invoked the more dangerous of spirits and set the stage for the EP to come.
Modern Scripture Track Listing:
1. Royal Fever
2. Faith & Chemistry
3. Nanoplastique
4. Cult in Your Pocket
5. Sugar Drip
6. Pristine Daydream
