Dead Chic’s New Single Takes You on An Epic Adventure to “Paris” [Video Premiere]
Dead Chic’s new single takes you on an epic journey to “Paris.” Check out our exclusive premiere of the video here…
Originally forming from the partnership between Andy Balcon and Damien Félix who met while touring with their respective bands (Heymooshaker and Catfish), Dead Chic became a more concrete collaboration in 2022.
Heading towards the latter end of 2024, the band (rounded out by Rémi Ferbus on drums and Mathis Akengin on keyboards) are setting up for the release of their debut album.
In anticipation, the band have dropped the lead single “Paris” today. Pulling you into a Morricone-esque universe, this anthemic single promises an adventure on the great trails, no matter the vehicle.
To visually represent this western-style soundtrack, the band enlisted director Anastasja Black along with producer Rowan Biddiscombe, known for the band’s previous music videos.
And here is the video in all its Spaghetti Western-inspired glory:
Speaking about the single, the band said:
“‘Paris’ was one of the first songs we wrote for this album. In fact the first ideas came in the studio during the mixing of our previous EP, it evolved a lot until its final form but from the start there was this very Morriconian cavalcade thing in the guitar riff at the intro. This song laid the foundations for the album in a way, with this epic side.”
On the location for the clip, the band told us:
“The clip, directed by Anastasja Black and Rowan Biddiscombe, was filmed in the south of Spain, near Almeria, exactly where Sergio Leone shot some of his most beautiful films. The decor is sumptuous and suited our song perfectly. It is with great pleasure and a certain excitement that we unveil this title which introduces our debut album “Serenades and Damnation.”
“Paris” is the lead single for Dead Chic’s upcoming debut album Serenades and Damnation. For more information on the band and news about the album, head over here.
