Cuchulain Premieres His Tender Single “Window Seat”
Singer-songwriter Cuchulain premieres his evocative new single “Window Seat,” the first single from his forthcoming new album.
Some musicians, like Cuchulain, just have a way of putting you in a mood. You might refer to it as “mood music,” or music you only put on when you’re feeling a certain way. You’ll hear what we mean with his evocative new single “Window Seat.” This is the title track and the first to be released from the singer-songwriter’s new album.
The song is a five-and-a-half-minute journey through the many years that a love can last. It’s the type of song that conjures up a lot of thoughts and memories. It might prompt you to reflect on your own life and the people that are most important to you. While “Window Seat” has a certain intimate component to it, it could apply to anyone who is an important figure in your life.
With an interesting anecdote on the song, Cuchlain tells us:
“The first time I tried out this song live on tour in San Francisco, one audience member bought tickets to the next show two weeks later, which was across the country in NYC, so they could show their partner this song. The release date, August 23rd, is two days after my anniversary.”
Cuchulain is an interesting artist for many reasons, but one specifically is his artistic distinctiveness. He releases music the way he wants without an interest in what other musicians are doing. He tends to release concept albums and also tends to buck musical customs or trends. For instance, his last record was a visual album of one-minute-long songs. He has also released an album of duets titled FEAT, and a capitalism-focused folk rock opera. Due to his deep baritone voice and personable lyrics, he has often been compared to Johnny Cash, Leonard Cohen, and Randy Newman.
Although maybe not as focused on a concept as a capitalism folk-rock opera, Window Seat also has a central focus. It’s a collection of love songs, not just physical love. It’s love for people, places, memories, and dreams. The next single will be titled “Somehow Claire” and is dedicated to Cuchulain’s wife, Claire. It will be released on her birthday, September 20th. After that, one single per month will come until the full album release on Valentine’s Day, 2025. Based on Chuchulain’s musical style and the theme of his album, we couldn’t think of a better album release date if we tried.
