Alana Rich Premieres Nostalgia-Laced Single, “New Stereo”

Indie pop artist Alana Rich unveils her latest single, “New Stereo,” a fusion of gleaming new wave wistfulness and contagious electro-pop flair. The song was co-produced by Alana Rich and Justin Sprout and engineered by GRAMMY Awards® winner Aviel Calev Hirschfield.

Rich shares:

“In a way, ‘New Stereo’ is a metaphor for recognizing the tendency we have to compromise ourselves in fear of being perceived and wanting to break free from that vicious cycle. As someone who started in music at a young age, there were many times where I was heavily motivated by external approval and lost sight of why I started writing music in the first place.”

Named one of the Top 25 Independent Artists to Watch, Rich has earned spotlights at Portland Trailblazers (NBA) games and performed at nationally recognized fashion weeks, along with sharing the stage with Jojo, Michelle Branch, Richard Marx, Arnel Pineda of Journey, K-POP idol SHAUN, and UK electronic-pop duo Lets Eat Grandma.

As an Asian-American artist and woman, Rich advocates representation in music through her performances and philanthropic endeavors, including The MLC Industry Roundtable and the AANHPI Women’s Conference. She is also a nominated member of the 2024 Recording Academy Member Class.

Opening on sparkling tones, “New Stereo” rolls into a pulsating rhythm composed of a driving bassline and dynamic percussion. Drenched in retro flavors, the melody radiates spinetingling layers of ’80s dance music as Rich’s delicious vocals imbue the lyrics with magnetic timbres.
