A New Violet Premiere Their Gravely “Over Again” Music Video

There are fun and free vibes galore in A New Violet’s brand-new music video for “Over Again.” The accompanying video clip is as uninhibited as the song, featuring the band having the time of their lives out in an area completely removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

“Over Again” is an accurate representation of what A New Violet is all about. And what it’s all about is the music and the power and solidarity inherent to punk rock. They are just a group of friends having fun, being expressive and sharing their passions.

The band is led by the fearless and energetic frontwoman Beth Vandal. Elaborating on what influenced the tone and setting of this video, Vandal tells us:

“The music video idea for ‘Over Again’ was inspired by the classic Mad Max movies. I chose a gritty, abandoned area where nobody resides. I wanted that wasteland feeling to it.

“It’s like a place you’d feel vulnerable in when faced to fight off your enemies. This is a song about taking back your power and not caving into fear. When you’re forced to unleash your inner warrior in order to prevent becoming your own worst enemy.”

“Over Again” is off of A New Violet’s debut EP, The Heat Is Getting Hotter, which was released last fall via Manic Kat Records. Since the EP’s release, it’s been a fun and encouraging run for the Florida quartet. As any worthwhile debut EP should do, this six-song collection makes a statement of what type of band they are and intend to be. Throughout the EP, many fist-pumping moments really indulge in the fun and rebellious history of punk. It’s a melodic collection of old and new school influences.

There is a lot of excitement attached to A New Violet, and why wouldn’t there be? It’s a new lease on life for Vandal, following her time with Summer Day Rescue and That I Am. She went solo for a bit but then regrouped with a diverse range of musicians in Sean Manvell, Abner Jara, and Ryan Ledbetter. With hometowns of Chile to Baltimore and diverse musical interests, this band is as unique as they come. Despite being new to the scene, A New Violet is prepared for action and ready to establish themselves as one of the bright new lights in punk rock.
