MegLaDan Unveil “Cadillac” Single & Music Video
Upstate NY indie musical pranksters, drop “Cadillac” warning Americans to get serious about saving democracy, before it’s too late!
To coincide with the start of the 2024 Republican National Convention, MegLaDan, Ryan Liberty Megan and Danny Mark Asis, are, according to them, releasing their best song yet. Their video, as they further state, is aimed like a laser at educating the basics of Project 2025 to the public. The song “Cadillac,” which sounds like Pink Floyd battling Wilco on the beaches of Normandy, is the perfect melancholic Americana epic to carry the stark bullet points of Project 2025 to the eyes of the viewer.
Upping the hypnotic factor is the video itself, an idyllic small town upstate NY 4th of July Parade, filmed and edited in slow reverse. “It’s like watching a baby crawl slowly towards a machine gun, and this is the soundtrack to that,” laments singer Ryan Liberty Megan.
“We know music, we know video editing, what can we do, if not this. What’s more of an American scream for freedom, than a ripping guitar solo anyways.” The musicians hope if it educates one person, on one new fact about Project 2025, the work was well worth it.
MegLaDan formed in New Paltz, New York in 2023, when longtime tour gig-mates Ryan Liberty Megan (Oryan) and Danny Mark Asis (Tiger Piss) finally joined forces to save music. Brought together by their shared lust for irreverence, movie production, and putting an organ into everything possible, they sought out to make art take acid again. Whether the song makes you laugh, scream or cry, or just normal for a moment, you’re going to feel something, and they’ll give you something to watch while you do. Shouldn’t every good song have a music video?
