Rising alt-pop artist Kiara NGL unveils her new track, “Every (Single) Time,” a reimagined rendering of her song, “Every Time,” from her 2023 EP, Still Life. “Every (Single) Times” sees Kiara NGL shifting her sound, adding darker synths and hints of industrial and new wave surfaces.

Kiara NGL explains:

“I don’t like to confine myself to one genre. This track is SO different from the other stuff I put out. At first I wanted to scrap the song because it didn’t fit my ‘musical aesthetic’. But it felt wrong to inhibit my creativity just because it didn’t fit into this little box I’d make for myself. So, I bit the bullet and decided to put it out there.”

Kiara began making music after hearing Sigur Rós‘ album Ágætis byrjun. The album’s emotional impact stirred her creativity: she wanted to evoke similar emotions through her own music. She crafted her first three Eps – catharsis, Still Life, and Sad Devotion – on her iPhone utilizing GarageBand. She is now exploring DAWS on her laptop, allowing her sound to evolve into new sonic realms that will be revealed on her upcoming EP, Thorns.

“Every (Single) Time” travels on edgy synths, flowing into a mid-tempo rhythm topped by shadowy, reverberating surfaces that contrast and silhouette Kiara NGL’s haunting vocals, akin to the moody sighs of a musing Siren. There’s a residue of new wave ambiance running through the harmonics, conjuring up suggestions of Depeche Mode.
