HONEY JAM Announce 2024 National Artist Development Program Lineup

Honey Jam, Canada’s iconic showcase of emerging female talent, returns for its 29th annual concert on Thursday, August 29th, at Toronto’s TD Music Hall (178 Victoria Street), promising an electrifying evening filled with music, empowerment and celebration. Tickets are on sale now. Honey Jam is also excited to announce that CBC Music will record the concert for a national broadcast airing later this year on CBC Music Live.

This year’s lineup features artists from across Canada of a wide array of genres (hip hop, folk, R&B, indie-pop, and jazz):

In addition to performances by this year’s selected artists, the concert will feature two tribute performances: a group of Honey Jam alum honouring Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album, plus 2022 alum Leah Holtam celebrating Sarah McLachlan’s 30th anniversary of her debut album and upcoming induction into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame. Hosted by CBC’s Angeline Tetteh-Wayhoe, the concert will also feature a special guest performance by 2020 alum MADLADY (formerly known as Tyra Jutai) plus DJ MelBoogie and Killa Kels.

Adding to the excitement of this year’s program, JUNO Award-winning and platinum-selling recording artist and songwriter Anjulie (a Honey Jam alum and a judge during this year’s auditions) is offering an opportunity to one Honey Jam 2024 artist to take part in a songwriting mentorship session with her. Also, Yamaha is returning as a sponsor and will award a 2,500 dollar prize to one artist to put towards sound equipment.

Honey Jam has a long-standing reputation for discovering and nurturing talent, with alumni including Nelly Furtado, Melanie Fiona, Jully Black, Haviah Mighty, and LU KALA. The program offers a platform for artists to gain exposure, develop their talents and connect with industry professionals and fellow up-and-coming artists, culminating with a performance at the concert on August 29th in front of music fans and members of the industry.

As Honey Jam gears up for its milestone 30th anniversary in 2025, this year’s concert serves as a prelude to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the momentous occasion.
