Brian Melo Returns with “In the Air” Single + Music Video
Canadian Idol Season 5 winner and gold-selling recording artist Brian Melo has unveiled a new single titled “In the Air.”
More than a decade after releasing his last album, The Truth, Canadian Idol Season 5 winner and gold-selling recording artist Brian Melo has unveiled a new single titled “In the Air.” Featuring powerful guitar riffs and haunting vocals, “In the Air” is a rock love song that encapsulates the electric anticipation and intensity of love, narrating a profound story that lingers in the air between two hearts.
Inspired by the early days of Brian and his now-wife Samantha’s relationship, the song captures the intense passion and emotion of those times—a passion that remains just as strong today.
“Shooting the music video for ‘In the Air’ was an incredible journey,” says Brian. “I wrote this song to capture the magical moment when my wife and I first met. We aimed to authentically depict our own story, and having Samantha play herself in the video made it even more special.”
In 2015, Brian made a bold move to Nashville, which also marked the beginning of a four-and-a-half-year long-distance relationship with Samantha. “It was remarkable timing when my wife and I met,” says Brian. “We had both just come out of bad breakups, and I was on the brink of moving to Nashville, waiting for my work visa. Despite falling head over heels for her, I kept my guard up, hesitant to start a long-distance relationship.”
“When I finally left for Nashville, we both assumed that was the end of our time together. But, as fate would have it, the distance only made our hearts grow fonder,” Brian continues. “I soon realized it would be the biggest mistake of my life if I didn’t follow what my heart was telling me. We committed to a long-distance relationship, spanning from Nashville to Hamilton. As the years went by, being away from her became increasingly difficult. I knew I had to return to my roots, marry her, and start a family. It was the best decision of my life.”
With “In the Air,” Brian Melo not only returns to the music scene but also brings a deeply personal narrative that will resonate with listeners, reminding us all of the timeless power of love.
