2000trees (Day Three): Friday Night Partying with The Chats, Empire State Bastard, Hot Milk and More [Photos]
2000trees continued as Empire State Bastard, Hot Milk, The Chats and many more took over Upcote Farm. Photos below…
Set in the idyllic surroundings of Upcote Farm in the heart of Gloucestershire, 2000trees has rapidly become the goto festival if you want to check out the best, newest and hottest alternative acts on the circuit and this year was no different.
Spanning four days, 2000trees 2024 was headlined by New Jersey blue-collar rockers The Gaslight Anthem, British party boys Don Broco and Australian rock ‘n’ roll trio The Chats. If that wasn’t enough to encourage you to part with your hard-earned money, then a mouthwatering supporting bill including Hot Milk, Boston Manor, Creeper, Death From Above 1979, Better Lovers, and many, many more should have had you scrambling to click that Buy Ticket button.
After a superb start to our time at 2000trees, day three had a lot to live up to, but with Aussie boys The Chats bringing the day to a conclusion, the Friday night at 2000trees was always going to end with one massive party. As with the Thursday, a day at the Main Stage saw a killer bill, including As December Falls, Crawlers and Nova Twins stack out the mid-afternoon line-up while Grandson and Bob Vylan both rounded out a main stage supporting cast in style, having been kicked off a few hours earlier with Bex, Sløtface and The Rumjacks kicking the proceedings off.
But, as with yesterday, the 2000trees line-up was equally as strong if you took a venture away from the main stage. The Cave stage was headlined by the mighty Empire State Bastard, while British hardcore outfit Palm Reader made their final appearance at 2000trees. Elsewhere, Guilt Trip and Fangs Out cranked up the riff levels earlier in the day. The Axiom Stage saw headliners Hot Milk in party mood on this Friday night, joined throughout the day by the likes of King Nun and Bears In Trees.
With plenty going on to keep you occupied, from yoga in the morning to silent discos late into the night, 2000trees demonstrated it isn’t always about the music, making it a festival for all ages. That being said, each year, the festival goes from strength to strength in its musical selection, with the Neu Stage being the place to be if you want to check out the rising stars of the alt scene. Headlined by Zetra, the supporting cast saw CLT DRP, idestroy and Artio, amongst others, hoping to make enough of an impression to jump up the bill next year.
We sent our photographer, Maryleen Photography, along to capture all the action and you can check out her awesome galleries below. If you want to get in on the action next year, tickets for 2000trees 2025 are available now from the Official 2000trees website.
