2000trees (Day Four): Don Broco and Creeper Wrap Up the Weekend in Style [Photos]
2000trees wraps up with Don Broco, Frank Turner, Creeper and many more delivering crowd-pleasing sets at Upcote Farm to sign things off…
Set in the idyllic surroundings of Upcote Farm in the heart of Gloucestershire, 2000trees has rapidly become the goto festival if you want to check out the best, newest and hottest alternative acts on the circuit and this year was no different.
Spanning four days, 2000trees 2024 was headlined by New Jersey blue-collar rockers The Gaslight Anthem, British party boys Don Broco and Australian rock ‘n’ roll trio The Chats. If that wasn’t enough to encourage you to part with your hard-earned money, then a mouthwatering supporting bill including Hot Milk, Boston Manor, Creeper, Death From Above 1979, Better Lovers, and many, many more should have had you scrambling to click that Buy Ticket button.
Our three days at 2000trees concluded with a lineup fit for the final day at a festival. From party bands to face-smashing hardcore to goth rock to shoegaze across the multiple stages, the line-up again catered to pretty much all genres of alternative music.
The main stage was the place to be for many of the crowd but with a line-up featuring The Meffs, Dune Rats, Cleopatrick and The Xcerts, who can blame them. Really though, if you’re going to put on two headline quality acts for a festival like 2000trees, how can you look any further than the mighty folk-punk rock of Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, who is a regular on the line-up and Brit rock party animals Don Broco who gave the weekend a final sign-off with a typically energetic set.
Elsewhere, though, there was no hint of a drop in quality across the rest of the bill as new names to the alternative scene like Splitchain along with plenty of familiar names like Blanket, Press Club, Teenage Wrist, Death From Above 1979, and more delivered the goods on the Neu Stage and Axiom Stage before one of the highlights for many fans, goth/horror rock showstoppers Creeper delivered a predictably slick, spooky headline set to wrap up the weekend for their legions of fans.
As with a previous few days, there was plenty going on away from the music with the highlights of the day including Drag Queen Story Telling, various podcasts, a comedy quiz and the now obligatory Silent Disco happening at various stop-offs around the site.
Over on the wonderful intimate Forest Stage, the likes of former Lionize frontman Nate Bergman, Amigo The Devil, and Skinny Lister amongst the acts to drop by and perform up close sets for fans. For us, it is this stage which sums up the beauty of this festival and all that it has going for it.
Great acts, a wonderful location, intimate surroundings as fans head home for a Sunday recovering, they will look back like us with plenty of memories, new friendships and a stack of new favourite bands as they raise a glass to one of the finest festivals on the circuit.
We sent our photographer, Maryleen Photography, along to capture all the action and you can check out her awesome galleries below. If you want to get in on the action next year, tickets for 2000trees 2025 are available now from the Official 2000trees website.
