If you’re going to make a statement, you may as well go ahead and make it right away, and that’s what President Elect have done with their new song “REBOUND.”
This is the West London outfit’s proper official debut single, a catchy little tune with a nice riff, some infectious hooks, and a whole lot of energy. It’s the type of track that would make for a perfect concert starter, which is just the type of song that the quartet was aiming to create. It’s the song to get everyone feeling a little looser, ready to move to and sing along with. It represents many of the band’s primary musical influences, most notably, the 1990s and 2000s alternative rock that they grew up on, like Paramore, Blink-182, and Placebo.
With a few words on “REBOUND,” the band states:
“We can’t wait for the release, ‘REBOUND’ is a song that has defined our sound for the foreseeable future. It has set us up in the best way possible for the start of President Elect and in the Alternative music scene and we know we’re going to work incredibly hard to be around for a long time.”
The momentum that the band carried into recording “REBOUND” was created by a collection of demo releases that were well received and gained support from BBC Radio Essex. They are viewing this single release as the mark of a new era for them, a more in-your-face sound that’s more forceful and commanding.
President Elect was originally formed by twin brothers Zak and Iggy Waller back in 2019. Two years later, they moved to London and with the addition of lead guitarist Vincent Barulis, they really began to gain traction locally. Along with rhythm guitarist Jude Crook, they have really found their niche, with a fun, lighthearted approach to their music that differs from traditional, overly serious hard rock. It’s a winning formula that the band is devising, and they are excited to bring it forwards toward the writing and recording of new music.
