Brooklyn, NY transplant (by the way of Boston, MA) music artist Carissa Johnson releases L’heure Bleue, After Dark (Remixes) EP through Brooklyn-based A Diamond Heart Production label.
Carissa Johnson is known for her straightforward lyrics, driving melodies, and her band’s inimitable live energy. Her musical career began in Boston, MA and has taken her all across the United States, playing over 350 shows in 35+ states between 2017 and 2020. She and her band won the New Act of the Year award at the 30th annual Boston Music Awards in 2017, the same year she won Boston’s legendary Rock n Roll Rumble (previous winners include Dresden Dolls & ‘Til Tuesday). Johnson relocated to Brooklyn, NY, in 2022 and is currently promoting her latest full-length album Blue Hour, out on A Diamond Heart Production (Nov. 2021).
L’heure Bleue, After Dark is a compilation of alternate versions of a select few standout tracks from 2021’s Blue Hour. This EP showcases the various beginnings and many directions the songs have taken. With remixes by musician Ryan Manning, early, raw demos that informed the songs, and acoustic versions of the synth-laden full-band tracks. L’Heure Bleue, After Dark is a collection that gives listeners a more intimate, well-rounded look inside the music and a deeper sense of closure to the album as a whole.
Along with the remixes EP, she is also releasing a special edition physical CD available via Rumbar Records/A Diamond Heart Production.
Upcoming Carissa Johnson Shows:
6/3 Faces Brewing in Malden, MA
6/13 Our Wickey Lady in Brooklyn, NY
6/30 Freddy’s Bar in Brooklyn, NY
