Alternative artist viisi releases “chasing ghosts,” featuring Chelsea Collins, a song about memories of past relationships that come back to haunt you.

viisi explains, “‘chasing ghosts’ is a turning point in my career. It represents my dedication to keep pushing myself as an artist…. we made a beautiful song that perfectly represents our personal struggles with our own relationships falling apart.”

Introduced to hip-hop by his father, viisi, aka Matthew Borley, immersed himself in the sounds of Eminem, Dr. Dre, Tupac, and Biggie. At the age of fourteen, a freshman in high school, he dropped his first rough cut. He dropped his first rough cut, which led to viisi touring Europe, performing to sold-out audiences in France.

From viisi’s upcoming EP, Episode 1: Autophobia, which dives deep into his core memories, exploring his innermost emotions, “chasing ghosts” opens on soft, tender colours topped by Collins’ cashmere voice, followed by flowing into an emo-trap rhythm supporting sumptuous washes of creamy lingering harmonics.

There’s a delicate sighing quality to Collins’ vocals that shifts to bewitching savours on the chorus and harmonizes well with viisi’s understated tones on the outro.

Simultaneously visceral, melancholy, and cathartic, “chasing ghosts” reveals ensuing sonic concatenations of cause and effect.
