Dark Side Of Light Debut Music Video for “Hit Repeat” Single

Pandemic-birthed, psych-pop indie duo Dark Side Of Light are following up their recent single, “Hit Repeat,” with the track’s official music video. With “Hit Repeat,” Frost and collaborator Grant Conway, yet again, explore new sounds and themes, with no two songs on their debut EP ever sounding stale or too genre specific.
Regarding the video, Conway, the drummer and co-producer, shares:
“Sometimes, you have to let go and just let things happen. The universe has a way of making things work out. Basically, we all got drunk and had a blast enjoying a video shoot that wound up becoming a backyard party with a bunch of old (and some new) friends from our creative scene.”
Frost also previously comments on then single, stating:
“‘Hit Repeat’ is a kind of Song of Solomon – it’s a musical homage to these bible passages, which are essentially sexual poetry. It started off as a sexual poem. The lyrics explicitly describe overtly sexual metaphors:
‘Crack the egg, run it down your crown / There is no draught, let the water run down’.”
Nik Frost and Grant Conway are planning their first live shows together as Dark Side Of Light in Los Angeles in the coming year.
