BERWYN returns with two brand new songs: “3450” and the first-take demo of “Chasing Lights (demo).”
Firstly, “3450” – another raw, heart-on-sleeve composition that adds to the growing library of intimate stories BERWYN has shared from his previous life before music. The subject matter that he’s touched upon on mixtapes DEMOTAPE/VEGA and TAPE2/FOMALHAUT – violence, persecution and doing what it takes to stay alive – remain constant in his artistic output, and stay central on “3450.” The track sees him confront the trappings of street life over understated production and soaring vocals – culminating in a monologue detailing the traumatic experience of having your family home raided by the police. “3450” is accompanied by a first-take demo of “Chasing Lights (demo)” – another languid, deeply personal composition set to a forlorn instrumental.
Speaking further about the tracks, BERWYN writes:
“‘3450’ understands the trauma that has been left by other experiences, it dwells on what has shaped who I am. Path To Satisfaction completely anticipates the future, 3450 takes away the anticipation and settles on reflecting. It’s a song for individuals who have experienced trauma – sometimes things happen that are out of your control and they leave an imprint on you, it stays with you. It’s a little therapy session. Chasing Lights continues that reflection in the present moment, after the unpacking. A little window into where my head’s at with it all now. All in all I’m just dancing along my own timeline.”
